These are Hollywood studio movies. There really WON'T be that many other movies this year.

The slop is getting runnier, is what this means. This does not preclude some German scat pornographer from sublimating his cineskills into creating the most breathtaking indie film of the last 60 years; it does mean that American studios will be spending less money on developing killer new IPs such as Black Girl Magic School Academy or Blippi Poop Fart Teehee.

The men Altman made from of in The Player would feel exasperated by current Hollywood. Gore Vidal would die again.

Apparently you're right, but its as close to being a majority as its ever been: https://www.franchisere.biz/movie-industry-charts-and-trends. 2023 was 58 franchise, 71 non-franchise (counting movies with 1000+ theaters). Compare that to 1997, 29 franchise vs 108 non-franchise. It'll be a majority within a few years :marseydepressed:
