I learned that with his awful rendition of Exodus. When Noah and the biblically accurate autobots is a better Bible movie that your mom asks to go see in a single year you know that it has to be dogshit.

He's still a banging film maker from the perspective of what a director does, but he's so hit or miss on picking good scripts. He balances that line between film making auteur and director because he has such a signature visual style, but seems to either pick great well paced scripts or shitty ones. The guy is also almost a century old, prob just time to retire
