Capeshit manchildren absolutely MALDING as Spiderverse loses the best animated feature award to The Boy and the Heron at the Golden Globes.

The 2D look on 3D was done already by Peanuts. I'm sure there's a lot of things Spiderverse improved or innovated but here's the thing when it comes vfx/hollywood animation, almost every major release they talk about how they developed a new software to achieve X effect or how many hours it took a specific frame to render.

And then you have youtubers like this who exaggerate shit. Like at one point in the video he talks about how great it is that they have characters properly interacting with the environment like Miles hitting a car or some people in the background while running. That's "great" if all you're used to is cheap and lazy animated works. You have that in dime a dozen Pixar/Disney works that no one even talks about.

Like his analysis of that Jurassic Park 2 scene is nitpicky and I hate that movie. He tries to make every minor continuity error as some sort of scene discombobulating issue. There's a reason he has to pause and go over certain "mistakes" multiple times because they're barely noticeable in motion. Like almost everytime he says he can't see the character, you can see the character and I'm on my phone watching a guy in a youtube vid show it to me on his shitty monitor. Or when he asks where that "door" came from. They're in a place with buildings on both sides and you can see that in establishing shot. Do you need to be shown that specific entrance prior to that shot to not be confused by its existence?

It's not a particularly good scene but his "analysis" is worse and I'm sure he thinks Jurassic Park 1 is well directed even though it contains similar "mistakes".
