Absolutely not . I feel like Disney has an agenda . They want all projects with minorities to flop so they can say see , we tried more diversity and it didn't work . I'm all for diversity but they've been making such shitty choices lately.
purposely throwing money away to embarass black folks seems the new agenda on projects that clearly will fail and have racists gather to bash
Bingo. They need to let the franchise go or because this ain't gonna work. Depp is too controversial right now so I understand why, but no. They keep setting up minorities primarily black women. When they could replace him with Timothee or someone else. They know this will spark outrage.
Kill this darn series already! That saggy, alcoholic ballsack Depp unfortunately played a character that is absolutely central to the franchise, so without Jack Sparrow it just doesn't make any sense. If Disney actually had any original ideas anymore, they wouldn't need to bite off the same tired butt franchises and set up poc and female actors for abuse!
Someone thinks the og complainer is a spicy industry plant.
It's typical and quite common on here. After moaning about full black women being replaced by biracial actresses and black women being overtly xesual, you'd think they would embrace someone like Ayo. She's a full DS black woman who is quirky and chill. She put in the work to get where she is today, so it's weird to see some fonts agreeing with that racist Mexican font about her being an industry plant. Smh I'm not taking anymore complaints about black women representation seriously on LSA.

How can one prove a movie with black protagonists isn't made in bad faith?

By making original content with organic plot reasons for black protagonists, which we all know Hollywood is deeply allergic to.
I'm never going to get a dramatic film about backstabbing Haitian aristocrats in Sans-Souci Palace with gorgeous period dress. Just random black actors shoe-horned into Jane Austen and 1800s England forever instead
