Before YouTube deactivated my recommendations, I got stuck in a Korean live-stream recommendation bubble. That's all they'd recommend to me.
As a result I ended up subscribing to a bunch and spend many hours a day watching a variety of weird Korean people dance, sing, and talk about their lives. Now, I can't speak Korean, but I don't speak Orangutan either and that's never stopped me from watching a nature documentary, plus Orangutans rarely sing or dance unlike Koreans which spend most of their days doing both (as well as drinking and smoking heavily and getting plastic surgery).
I thought I'd share with you these unrecognized cultural icons. A lot of the things I'm going to convey about the channels are my interpretation of their body language and behaviour, as many of you know I'm a professor of anthropology so I came to understand these people through that lens rather than what they say which is all gobbledygook to me. As a result some of this information may be inaccurate.
Professional entertainers
It seems Korea has a category of street performers called Pumbas or Gakseoris, in the past they were bums who performed for food. Nowadays they've made it a cherished tradition and it's become a job of sorts I guess.
Pathetic Pumbaa ( 한심해품바 ) Starting strong with Pathetic Pumbaa, he's a dwarf who sings karaoke every afternoon, usually accompanied by an elderly man or an elderly woman on the drum or for backing vocals. He seems to always be drunk but that might just be because he's a dwarf.
My Princess Pumbaa ( 나공주품바 ) That girl is nuts, probably my favorite. She sings and dances and jumps all over the stage for hours. She's got a great voice and crazy stamina. In the softer part of the songs people will come stick cash in her belt, kind of like a stripper but less exciting. Fantastic entertainer. If you need more convincing just watch this shit:
Mountain hillbilly families
Sanyacholove (지리산심마니집) This is a family who stream themselves eating every night. The wife never smiles, she seems like dreadful nag, always picking on her husband. I think they might be some has-been reality TV stars from a show about remote living. They have a rivalry with another livestreaming family (the one below), although they sometimes go on vacation together.
Jinangoweo ( 진안고원 산골 이야기) This is the better hillbilly family of the two. Former TV reality stars as well. The father looks like a stereotypical asian monk you'd find in an 80s movie about KungFu. They have a dozen children and they stream themselves eating their evening meal in the mountains. They often eat outside during the summer and you can see the incredible landscape in the background and the setting sun over the mountains, it's beautiful. Also the wife is a hottie .
Cancerous patient or Witch?
Hwamyeong-dong Witch ( 화명동마녀 ) This is a woman I found hiking through the mountains with her dad or husband. I say dad or husband because it's unclear how old she is. She looks 12 but has tatoos and drinks and smokes like a sailor. Initially I thought she might have cancer (shaved head) and her parents were letting her do these things before she died but now I think she might be a witch and a degenerate. Either way her first hiking stream was spectacular with incredible mountainous landscapes, since then she mostly livestreams herself in hotels, drinking, smoking, dancing which is also fun. It's clear she's a person with a strong personality, which she earned either from facing death or from manipulating the occult.
Single mother with fat kids
Kiruki mom ( KIRUKI예슬씨) Nothing very interesting about this one but she often cooks on stream which is nice to see and her kids are fat. It's always fun to watch fat kids eat, although I imagine for burgers it's stopped being funny, like a comedy you've watched too many times.
That's All. I always welcome new recommendations of foreigners streaming themselves doing weird shit, if you know of any.

Korean mommy vlogers are so creepy to me
They attach microphones to their little kids and add cute music as they run around in public and it makes me think "wow I'm glad I'm not her kid" and "I shouldn't have checked the comment section these people are wayyy too invested and the mommy vloger knows it and doesn't care
same for all family vlogs
btw i had a friend who cried and went through the stages of grief in college when her favorite late 00s vlogger dude got married
"she's bad for him and if they have kids, they will be ugly" "at leassht their 10 year old looks more like him... hic... but shees gonna sheet on him he made a huuugge mistshake, shes got crazzzshe eyes like bruhhh"
this shit don't attract mentally stable people, and these little kids featured on vlogs are gonna have all the weird moids in the comment section remember who they are every single day for the remaining 30 years of their lifespan

What is your take on korean twitch foids?? (now that they are likely to move to utoob or whatever koreal streaming service is allowed)

They are mostly failed rejects of the Kpop industry.
Failed to debut, in crazy debt but look pretty and can dance good. Perfect for coomers with a savior complex.

For every thot who succeeds there's gotta be literally thousands who never made it. Even worse than Hollywood.

A lot are on essentially debt-slave contracts and if they don't debut they're like in basketweaving degree levels of debt.

No take, I didn't even know there were any on twitch. I don't watch twitch in general because most streamers there are massive degenerates and it makes my blood pressure rise.
Do you have anyone in particular to recommend?

no, all the korean foids I see on twitch are what you said, "camwhores" now that twitch is blocked in korea, youtube might be where they flock to

Why?

not technically blocked, twitch itself is withdrawing from korea, and korean streamers can't access twitch's monetization anymore because their ISPs keep strongarming streaming services too pay extra if they want too operate in korea oficially, so no subs, bits or whatever twitch handles. @cyberdick think they can still stream and get payments via paypal but @cyberdick is not sure.

That's too stupid to just be a mistake. Must be some shady chaebol maneuvering going on behind the scenes.

Most degenerate country on earth but god forbid some woman shows her kitty online.
My theory is that whoever came up with that law was way into edging.

it stands for "broadcast jockey", it's just another word for livestreamer, why they can't just use that word is beyond me. it's mostly regular butt streaming, but there are a LOT of korean cam girls.

So koreaboos will literally sit and watch a family of unremarkable hillbillies eat supper?

I'll watch a family of any race eat supper. As long as they're not white .
I themed this post around the Koreans but I can do one on my Nigerian subscriptions next if there is interest (there won't be).
