I never realised that there were lots of people that unironically love the "big guy" scene in Batman and get mad if someone calls it stupid

Fun fact: In an intèrview, Aiden Gillan admitted to having 'mixed feelings' about his performance in The Dark Knight Rises. He also said that, because the IMAX camera was so loud, he couldn't hear anything Tom Hardy was saying behind the mask and just shouted his lines out, talking over the top of Hardy several times meaning there needed to be several takes. He was surprised at the one Christopher Nolan used.

I remember seeing The Dark Knight in theaters and not being sure if my inability to understand what anyone was saying in this scene was due to speaker issues or Christopher Nolan spending his entire budget on Anne Hathaway in a catsuit

No one ever talks about how Baneposting was also the origin of that "meme magic" thing /pol/ used to love in 2016, likely because it's actually more socially acceptable to say the alt-right trump voters invented it than to admit it was born of 4chan users finding a bunch of funny coincidences in the immediate aftermath of a real life tragedy that killed 150 people.

the entire scene is so ridiculously over the top it is supposed to be enjoyed for being so ridiculous

I think one of the finer points of Christopher Nolan writing is that sometimes you can't tell if he's in on the joke or not. I hope he is, but if he isn't, it's still funny AF.

The fire rises!

I disconnected from normie culture years ago so I'm getting a fresh reaction to the scene. Holy frick it's funny.

The mix, the r-slurred dialogue, the nonsensical plot. And both twitter and youtube commenters are glazing every part.

Favourite part is when the Nolan fades out all the sound so the audience can finally hear something and it's an asthmatic "Crashing this plane". Beyond parody

using a bigger airplane to lift the smaller airplane and letting the air rip off its wings is an incredibly cool and scary idea.

That movie sucked so bad and still sucks to this day, especially compared to The Dark Knight.
