I don't know where does this energy to care and be overdramatic (terrorism lol) come from. TFA, the first Disney StarWars film that was mediocre to bad shat all over the original trilogy, and that was almost 10 years ago.
StarWars is long dead and I don't care, I keep up with it just because I find the new slop failing funny.
There is no way they are making any money off of it anyway.

Anyone that didn't drop star wars after the first line of tfa opening crawl deserves the trash they get.
Stopping caring about star wars thanks too the prequels could be acceptable too, but unlike Disney slop they at least spawned some enjoyable stuff for both kids and adults while not invalidating the ot or forcing 6 billion nonsense retcons.
Star wars as good story was dead after prequel trilogy. But at least George had the foresight of making interesting world building which spawned shit ton of good spin-off media.
Spin-off media that Disney killed the second they bought the franchise.
Which always seemed so brain dead. The EU content had an inbuilt audience (in the already content hungry Star Wars fandom) and stories they could draw from for at least a decade and they were like 'lol nah, that's not cannon. Our new sequel trilogy is the only new content'.
From Disney's perspective the star wars EU "fandom" may as well have not existed. It was the same size/meaning as the dungeons and dragons novels fandom. Fifty nerds buying laughably bad genre books are not the sort of audience a company the size of Disney cares about, so the EU was just an appendix to be snipped clean
But then they got hacks like Chuck Wendig to write new Star Wars books. They have every appearance of thinking that Star Wars was a pile of shit, but popular shit, so they didn't have to care about what fans wanted or what story they were trying to tell because they expected the fanboys to mindlessly consoom.
Which many of them did, but with each subpar release they lost more and more fans as they reached their limit on how crap content they could tolerate. So now they're like US comics, hiring people to intentionally antagonise the existing fanbase they don't like. While trying to replace it with the alleged millions of women and queers who totally would have been fans if only they'd felt represented, and not been driven away by the scary altright chuds.
Basically, the people in charge now always thought Star Wars was bad, so they never felt any need to make their new products appealing to the existing audience.
True, but they treated it as a chance to make their audience eat the diversity slop rather than thinking that the final product should have any value outside of that. A better idea would have but been to intentionally make it lame and gay.
It might have been a copyright issue. Far from all the EU stuff was purely LucasArts, I imagine, so just buying LucasArts wouldnt necessarily mean they got to use all that content themselves, or they would have had to pay royalties out their butt to do so.
"Oh yeah there was only a single battle of any importance after Endor and then all the Empire just fricking left...also all the jedi are dead."
If JJ wasn't such a confirmed hack on the star trek front as well I'd be convinced he was a secret trekkie that hated how big starwars got. I STILL think that about Rian Johnson because I've never met a single soul that liked that movie that wasn't a brain diseased trekkie or a woman who wanted to frick Angst Vader.
