Season 1 was good, everything after was dogshit. 3 seasons of setting up a mega fight at the end of the season, until they find a stupid convoluted reason to cuck everyone out of a resolution and for everyone to go their separate ways. Just dumb.
It's why the comics are so much better. Homelander is never really front and centre there until the last few editions. He appears every so often, but he's mostly just in the background, while The Boys go off doing whatever they're doing. That works so much for setting up a long term villain that what the series is doing.

I think the theme of unreliable narrators and obfuscated facts in the show means that Soldier Boy wasn't the hero he is pictured as, but he's also more of a real hero than pretty much anyone else.
