He was no boomer, he was a Gigachad GI Gen. On season 2 Gus Fring said he killed “germans by the dozen”, then suddenly on season 3, the fat drunk and totally reliable boomer agent tells them “yeah Soldier Boy never fought in Normandy, he just did some photo ops” and then he says Soldier Boy crushed Birmingham protestors in the 60's just to the audience can know “THIS GUY IS A RACIST, HATE HIM NOW!”

I think the theme of unreliable narrators and obfuscated facts in the show means that Soldier Boy wasn't the hero he is pictured as, but he's also more of a real hero than pretty much anyone else.
Plus he had the Chaddest and most hilarious lines in the entire series so he's the best character
