How do we retract this?"
"Let's just write him into the show. "
"But...Ki-Adi isn't born yet for another 40 years"
"no one will notice. And if they do, this is my canon now. Just do it."
- we…
Ki something isn't supposed to show up in the new show but he did. Star Wars nerds are seething over it. I don't know why this showed up on my Twitter feed but it's probably because I've clicked on Twitter links from here so thanks a lot dorks.

The dude's age was canonized? Where?
I thought Star Wars pretty explicitly has tiers of canon, where things in the higher tiers can overwrite stuff in the lower tiers. Is this not what happened?
Yeah, after digging into it this is an old EU birthdate. Obviously that shit will get overwritten by whatever Disney wants, and getting assblasted over it is a bad look.
Looks like I'm embracing the soy side on this discussion. The Acolyte isn't amazing, but so far it seems better than anything released since Andor. Which is a low bar but it is not the "She Hulk of Star Wars" or whatever. Yes if this were literally the last episode of the series then it would open weird lore gaps but doing this whole breathless "WOW WHY ARE WE NOT EXPLAINING EVERYTHING RIGHT AWAY FRICK KATHLEEN KENNEDY" shtick after every episode is becoming an obvious grift.
