https://twitter.com/realswtheory/status/1803274211307430340

TPM ruined the EU continuity and introduced midichlorians amongst other concepts counter to the existing lore. Unless something after X-Wing/New Jedi Order threaded that needle before the Disney purchase it was already a complete mess.

Which other !bookworms grew up reading spaceslop? :marseyautism:

God I love Lucas so much, this would be way more fun if he was fricking with Star Wars instead of Disney

I only did since my uncle had a million of them he gave to our family. Most were shit but I enjoyed them as a kid with no standards lol. The ones with Thrawn were cool. :monkey: :marseyskywalkergenocide:

The RA Salvatore stuff (mostly NJO) was also good by pulp standards. You seem like someone who would have read the Drizzt novels. :marseysquint:

I haven't but my friend spergs about them. She's more into DnD stuff. My uncle also gave us a bunch of Xanth books. They were fantasy pulp lol but they were a fun time (and weirdly horny sometimes lol :marseybooba: :marseybutt: ) have you read those?

Spaceslop was an absolute staple of my childhood from grades 5 to 9. Thankfully grew out of it before HS. I liked the Corellia trilogy and that one where the hutts build a death star laser

This is why Warhammer 40k has "Warp Frickery".

"Hey isn't that guy dead?"

"Yes but due to warp frickery, he is still alive in this instance"

"Hey why is this 10,000 year old dude still alive?"

"Warp frickery"

"Hey how did this alien from this corner of the universe end up on the other side of the universe?"

"Warp frickery"

"Hey how come this vehicle that hasn't existed in 10,000 years be here?"

"Warp frickery"

There's a really easy excuse if you set something in ancient times. We don't really know when most of those people were born down to less than a decade or two.

Just say he developed dementia by the time of the prequels. He forgot about the Sith and his birthday. Problem solved.

This is that cute twink who made an expensive shitty Star wars fan film then posted a crying video when Disney had him take it down temporarily.

The dude's age was canonized? Where?

I thought Star Wars pretty explicitly has tiers of canon, where things in the higher tiers can overwrite stuff in the lower tiers. Is this not what happened?

Yeah, after digging into it this is an old EU birthdate. Obviously that shit will get overwritten by whatever Disney wants, and getting assblasted over it is a bad look.

Looks like I'm embracing the soy side on this discussion. The Acolyte isn't amazing, but so far it seems better than anything released since Andor. Which is a low bar but it is not the "She Hulk of Star Wars" or whatever. Yes if this were literally the last episode of the series then it would open weird lore gaps but doing this whole breathless "WOW WHY ARE WE NOT EXPLAINING EVERYTHING RIGHT AWAY FRICK KATHLEEN KENNEDY" shtick after every episode is becoming an obvious grift.

People who consider either Lucas' prequels or Disney's nu-wars to be canonical are not worth taking seriously.
