This is why good cinema isn't made anymore. If someone tries to defend a good scene for once redditors will go through your post history and try to discredit your opinions. The show is called "The Boys", and while I have prime I only watch it through youtube clips because 99 percent of the show is shit, but sometimes they make the villains unintentionally cool like with soldier boy and the deep, and I like going to the discussion forums and supporting the Villains for the purpose of incitement. In this most recent argument I was talking about how badass the Deep was. He's a bit of an butthole, but he's charming. Last episode he finally got a good moment which prompted my defense of him. Watch this clip if you want more context behind the angry redditors.
It starts here with one redditor explaining "The Peak" nickname as "ironic glazing" rather than the genuine admiration that the deep has been garnishing recently. I of course let him know that he was wrong and received angry comments from redditors going through my post history.

After I made this comment I received this message and I attempted to stir the pot a bit more.

A-train is a murderer, he killed Huguie's girlfriend on the first 10 minutes of the show, but because he's BIPOC who suffered from heckin racism he gets absolved from his sins.

People really fail to understand just what an animal you'd have to be to play the gravity-accelerated WMD card in sci-fi. At the end of the day though people supporting the parties that do it do so out of aesthetics more than anything else. Compare the belters pulling this shit and Zeon pulling it in Gundam. One is coded as fascist and the other coded as terrorists, and thus the people who sympathize change even though both factions did the same thing for largely the same reasons.
Whereas a sane person would understand that nuking earth, permanently reducing its ability to support life, and killing like half the population makes you a monster worthy of having you and all your followers tortured 'till you die of old age.

Also, no character on the Show except for Avasarala and funnily enough Naomi mourns for the Earth. Holden is an Earther, born and raised and his parents live there but he's like "meh", same with Amos but Amos is a psychopath so that's probably why.
