Has anyone here watched the Netflix miniseries Brand New Cherry Flavor? The show is a tribute to the grindhouse horror films of the '70s and '80s (but set in the '90s and laced with heavy doses of Lynchian arthouse surrealism as well), and features some of the most extreme gore ever seen in a television series, with scenes guaranteed to make even battle-hardened horror fans squirm. The 8-episode series gets increasingly gory (and increasingly bonkers) with each episode. The ending is disappointingly anticlimactic (I was fully expecting a final tragic, gut-wrenching bloodbath), but the series is still very much worth watching, especially for fans of off-the-wall cult horror. All throughout the show, there is superb use of mood and period atmosphere, with many well-placed selections of '90s indie rock (such as "Tomorrow, Wendy" by Concrete Blonde in a particularly memorable scene). The performances are stellar all-around, especially that of lead actress Rosa Salazar. With a better ending, this could have been something truly great.

Yes and it was awesome.

It reminded me of Blood Drive, which I wish would have gotten more seasons. We don't get enough D-Level grindhouse series that are just fun to watch and don't take themselves seriously.

Also both main actors were hot.
