the second thread got jannied lmao

Review bombed 100%, homophobic reactions to the kiss at the end it's not a coincidence that 90% of the 1/10 reviews are from Saudi Arabia. Like seriously how does this episode have the worst rating compared to the previous one.

What about Laenor and his lover getting intimate? The show was not review bombed at all for that. Don't know if that is consistent with what the root cause for these negative reviews.

:#marseynoooticer: most peculiar huh?

I imagine some of the bomb ratings are homophobic but some are because of the bad writing. I would give it a 7 maybe because it's too slow, Daemon should've been in Harrenhaul for 2 episodes 3 at a push. Rhaenyra being annoyed at her son who is only trying to advise her and then goes seeking validation from a stranger who helped usurp her a matter of weeks ago. I couldn't really care less about the kiss but I'd like for it to be viewed for what is is, a mistake on Rhaenyra's part and the beginning of her downfall. And also we get this instead of a cool scene of Addam and Seasmoke or maybe Helaena visiting her sick husband's bedside or more Corlys ffs.

Lmao

I'm more surprised there's even that many folk watching it in Saudi.

What's up with the sapphic thing? They keep bringing up Ancient Greece when talking about lesbianism

The pacing has been too slow.

The show writers are trying to add their own layer of interpretation on top of everything that GRRM has already laid out.

Mysaria already had a solid backstory in the book, the lesbian stuff just feels unnecessary. Mysaria being loyal to Rhaenys because she fully believes she would be a good leader is more meaningful than her staying loyal because they've touched each others kitties.

They don't know how to write friendships without making them sexual. Look how redditors (the show-runners and writers share the reddity mentality) treat every portrayal of a strong friendship between people of the same s*x.

>oh J & M have who have been best friends for years gave each other a hug, they're totally raw-fricking

Always sounds like something a middle-schooler would say.

It's inconceivable to them that two men (or two women) can love each other and care for one another like brothers without being sexually attracted. Some examples are the fan-fics about Frodo and Sam or every time Patroclus is brought up.

It's just unabashed pandering as a result of the casting decisions.

Since Emma Darcy is a theythem bisexual, they know they are pulling in a LGBT audience.

There has to be some justification for Mysaria becoming Rhaenyra's most trusted advisor, so they took their opportunity to inject a gay romance as just that.

However, in bowing to the :marseytrain:strag audience, they simultaneously destroy the potentially strong feminist message of "mutual respect and trust between two women who have both been overlooked, but bring great knowledge and value to the realm".

I think the guy who played the king in the first season kind of carried it. None of the characters left are likeable at all, they clearly try to push the audience to the wanna be Queen but I don't think it's really working considering her side is filled with psychopathic buttholes as well. Tbh the eye patch kid is being presented as bad, but seems the best suited.
