Disney's Captain America: Brave New World grossed an estimated $7.20M on Friday (from 4,105 locations). Estimated total domestic gross stands at $120.21M.

Is that good, bad, or indifferent?

Its grossed about 200 million and its break even point is 425 million. Its falling behind Ant Man 3, which notoriously bombed

Estimated costs for the movie is $180m so they might break even and we wouldn't know the actual cost to produce until they release those numbers sometime this year.

They reshot this movie like 4 times, so the production costs are way higher. You also have to factor in an 8- or 9-figure advertising budget. And then consider that the studio only gets part of domestic ticket sales revenue and an even smaller cut of international revenue. This movie probably needs to make a billion dollars to break even, and will probably be the biggest flop they've ever had.

I'm pretty sure this movie is already a better earner than Captain Marvel 2, which was the biggest superhero bomb of all time until Joker 2 came out.

The main thing they're reacting to is the drop. The opening weekend was $90-100M. If the second Friday is pulling only $7M, then nobody outside of the soy inner circle is watching this, and they're not even recommending it to their friends
