I just watched the last few episodes and I can tell the writers want you to root for Jinx, but she's just an r-slured psychopath murder. Everytime someone's about to kill her she starts to cry and a literal child comes to bail her butt out of trouble. This show falls into your typical pitfall of millennial writing where characters have flaws that are never appropriately addressed and so as the story progresses everyone makes the predicament more shit. Literally everyone is an incompetent jackass and there's like 4 bull cute butches who beat that beat the utter piss out of eqch other.
My favorite one is the jobber with the one arm, because she's so unfortunate.

This scene was shot from beginning to end three times. Director Mary Harron told Wiilem Dafoe to play it differently each time; one take where he's oblivious, one where he's suspicious and one where he knows Bateman killed Allen but can't prove it. Parts of all three takes were used in the final cut.

I worked on the Shield for the last two seasons and I can tell you 100% some of the locations we shot in were so sketch we were told by the police we had to be out by 10pm because even they wouldn't stay past that time. During my time on the show, our camera truck was shot, we were robbed, equipment was stolen, knives and guns were pulled on crew, and our location manager had a pit bull set on him resulting in a trip to the ER and multiple stitches (remember, I was only therr for 2 seasons....there were so many other wild stories that happened before too, but I can only speak to the ones I was actually involved in). We were regularly told not to wear certain colors in some locations because of potential gang contact (don't wear the opposing gang's colors). I also spent a season on SOA, and there were lots of similar rules and incidents (like the time we accidentally had Hells Angels and Mongols on the same day...oops.) One Shield story: During the last season, we were shooting on a location that had a basketball court. We were scheduled to shoot two days at that location. On day 2 we had to delay shooting because at some point in the night, someone had come in and spray painted F*ck the Police in huge letters on the basketball court for the cops in the police helicopters to see as they flew overhead at night. Because of that, we had to get the paint cleaned up before we could keep shooting so it wouldn't ruin continuity.
On the flip side, some of the kindest people I met were from the roughest areas.

Pretty good! Another Inexplicably kino addition to cinema.
It focuses on the Launderies in Ireland. When women become pregnant before marriage in order to avoid the social shame of having single mother as a daughter they would ship them into the Laundries ran by the Catholic Nuns (ie . most evil women in Irish history).
They would be forced to give up their kids when they gave birth and made into nuns or taught to be servants or maids. They would be still be forced to give up their children who would also be either adopted as wards of the Church or laypeople. 57'000 women were estimated to be sent to these convents as late as 1984!
Pretty kino film honestly. Cilian Murphy was very expressive while mostly staying silent thru the whole thing!

I doubt most of you care but this girl played Callie on BSG and apparently left the show early to devote herself full time to the cult and remained a massive supporter and believer for 18 years, even after the leader was arrested and sentenced to life in prison.
This is the cult she was a part of if you're curious

Against all odds, The Penguin is a pretty decent show. I will keep it light on spoilers but I would say it's a step below Shogun but a pretty close contender. Watching The Batman isn't necessary, and in fact I would suggest against it since it trivializes a bit of the mystery in this show. A quick rundown full of half-truths.
Characters:
Oswald (Oz) "The Penguin" Cobb
A down on his luck gangster whos crime boss just died. It's time to make his move and take over the business, for the little guy.
Victor "Vic" Aguilar
With his family having died as a result of the ending of The Batman, he has resorted to a life of petty street crime. Even though Oz has graciously taken him under his wing, Vic is still uncertain if this life is for him.
Sofia "The Hangman" Falcone
Freshly released from Arkham for murdering a bunch of women, she is the main roadblock stopping Oz from taking over. She has a lot of issues of her own to deal with. Mainly the internal power struggles, and being crazy. Oz was her driver before being promoted due to his loyalty while handling a delicate matter.
Francis Cobb
Oz's loving and supporting mother. She's supportive of his dreams of being the boss of the mob.
Overall the characters are really great, the story is nice and somewhat tight. Doesn't require too much suspension of disbelief and it's fun to see the spots Oz gets into and wonder how he'll get out of them.
The Penguin is probably the best villain I've seen in a while and they really don't pull any punches with him, while also managing to make him somewhat likable. Sofia is great as well (except for a note below) and is a really good counterforce to him. It's quick, there is very little wheel spinning, and they completely nail the ending the season. Overall, I give it an 8/10.
Some light complaining about the season:

The show is ok, but watching it has become a chore, its like the later seasons of The Walking Dead or Vikings.
The thing is you can pick a random episode in season 1, and pick a random episode in season 5 and the characters are the exact same people! No one has shown any development.
Oh there goes John again, trying to save his ginormous ranch but he never loses the ranch.
Oh there's Jamie being a weaselly little shit with daddy issues.
There's Rip being incredibly badass with daddy issues.
There's Beth, being a crazy twat with daddy(and mommy - but this is literally brought up once and only once) issues, maybe she'll go full frontal: Nope. She does say "frick" alot though
There's Casey, teetering on the edge of divorce because his wife is kind of a b-word and constantly makes him choose between his family and her shitty reservation.
There's Chief Rainwater who only shows up to b-word about how the white people r*ped the land or whatever.
ahahaha There's Jimmy strugging to be a Cowboy, oh wait he's actually learning how to be a cowboy. Oh he's showing actual growth? Better send him off the show.
Honestly this show woyld have been MUCH better of Lloyd just straight up killed Casey for not killing that guy he told him to kill.
