11/22/63 is pretty great. Funnily enough the ending is pretty good as well, and it turns out his son (author Joe Hill) was the one who suggested that ending after reading the initial draft
I'd be willing to give it a chance. After The Dark Tower IV I started to lose interest, but in retrospect maybe that saved me from the disappointment of Robert Jordan and George R.R. Martin. I quit Wheel of Time halfway through the 6th book and never picked up any of the Game of Thrones books.
The Dark Tower gets really weird around the fifth book, Once Stephen King himself becomes a character in the books (literally) I almost quit but I wound up shrugging my way to the end. The series does end in a satisfying way at least
I should probably revisit the series, The Gunslinger was one of my favorite books as a child and it's been over 25 years since I've read any of them. I should finish it.

Dark Tower is worth finishing if you're invested in the characters in any way, but not worth it just to say you did.
Pretty much everything after that I'd consider questionable based on the half dozen or so I read like Bag of Bones

Stephen King is still a high tier short story writer. He's good in a format where he doesn't have to write coherent endings. I loved the story about the neurodivergent r-slur with Death Note like abilities in Everything's Eventual. Highly recommend.
I like how you know a character is good because someone will mention that they don't like trump. Double points if the main character thought they'd like trump, but it turns out they don't.
Yeah but you had to be nearly an adult to get it. RL stien horror per lb has to be factors over king, even with IT. Easily digestible paranoia and I couldn’t help myself before 13
The cinematographer couldn't speak English and lost an eye during filming. Tobe Hooper told a story of visiting King on set and King asked him why the 180 degree rule was a thing and if he could break it. Tobe had to suck in his breath and go, "Steve, you should master the fundamentals of movie making before trying to do stuff like that."
Scholastic sued RL Stein for claiming he used ghost writers. Stein claimed he just had people help him with plots. People have come out and stated that they ghost wrote Give Yourself Goosebumps books (the werid CYOA Goosebumps spin off) as far as I know Stein wrote every main Goosebumps and Goosebumps 2000 book
I wrote a whole paper about this. Stine used ghostwriters for sure on the Give Yourself Goosebumps series and the short story collections Tales to Give You Goosebumps. He also for sure used ghostwriters on the main series allegedly for just outline purposes, but hardcore Goosebumps fans have noted that later books in the series do kind of derivate from Stine's usual style, and Scholastic had proof of these ghostwriters but the judge in that case denied their evidence to be submitted in the case for some legal technical reason
You ever read those CYOA books? They are literal nonsense like just random shit happens. “You are in the abandoned house down the street and in the hallway to your left is a giant poodle and two your right is a table with purple goo on it”. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to track down scans of the give yourself books (quite a few are missing from the usual sites) and my frens on private trackers wont check for me …
I also remember how Stine was adamant that no one dies in Goosebumps books because it would be too heavy for kids but in those CYOA books like 80% of choices end in death lol

As long as the foids don't try to actively turn their simp armies against people (like Zoe Quinn did in G*mergate), I don't care if moids of their own free will choose to pay attention to consenting foids who welcome that attention. Like holy shit, let people enjoy things.

Look at it this way - you don't have to mask your true personality around dramafoids to try and appear more boring/normal because they are perfectly comfortable with a bit of craziness. Ok, so dramafoids have the exact same problems as bitches on dating apps, but they're somewhat cooler and they wear their red flags more overtly. I think that's swell because it makes their potential problems easier to spot.
you'd be lucky to only be the fourth guy she's currently DMing, why even try at that point?
I was not aware that the moment a woman DMs me she's locked into a relationship with me and can't DM anybody else. Personally, I usually wait until several dates in before discussing exclusivity but maybe that's just me
this also isn't a dating website (at least not for straggots) so the encouragement of simping is going to make everyone act more r-slurred
Who's encouraging simping? Not me. I just don't think we should attack foids in order to discourage it, because then not only do we lose quality contributors but also this place starts to smell like a locker room.
If you don't like simping, don't attack the foids, attack the simps who are thirstposting at them. They're the enablers.
