Going by that logic how do you guys distinguish the singular "you" from the plural "you"?

We distinguish by saying "você" and "vocês"

You is technically the plural form, equivalent to вы or vous or vosotros. Thou would be our singular equivalent to tú or ты. It's gone out of style (though some regional dialects still use distinguish between them). So it's technically fine to just say "You" when it comes to plural subjects.

"Vous" in french is used for singular as well

>Parlez-vous français monsieur?

Yeah, it developed similarly, and vosotros isn't really used nowadays.

Vosotros is still used a lot in Spain, it disappeared only in LATAM.

Meanwhile Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay retained the "voseo", "vos"instead of "tú"

Vos tenés/tú tienes

Vos hacés/tú haces

The local beer there is Iron City and it's just a solid lager. "IC Light" I think has more recognition?

I must confess, I was Yuengling-baiting you. I wanted to diss on a regional favorite so you would dunk on me and I could pretend to cower in fear in a comedic way.

Please be better.

At least in German you have all that declension stuff to disambiguate between "formal you" ("Sie" ), "they" (sie), "her" (sie), and "she" (sie). Which makes the language 10 times more annoying to learn :marseybrainlet:

You can be singular or plural.

Local dialects have "y'all" or "yous" but it's not considered proper. Which is stupid as frick because we should have a plural you.

We do have a plural "you." We do not have a singular "you." Consider what verb conjugations have subject/verb agreement with "you."

Those local dialect options are extra-plural, I guess?

It's the easiest way to say it without sounding like an r-slured yankee, and it's good because west coastcels underestimate you. (They have no plural 2nd person other than something :gay: like "folks"--"you guys" was cancelled. :marseyemojirofl: )

Not having the Oxford comma in Portuguese is the most r-slurred shit ever, those fricking politicians are always fricking around with the language but they never think of putting something useful in it.
