In interviews, Houellebecq has repeatedly defended the principle of women being paid to have s*x, heavily criticising his home country for making prostitution illegal in 2016. In his 2001 novel Platform, a semi-autobiographical protagonist called Michel wanders around Thailand as a s*x tourist.

This man is making me feel feminist things about his double-standard.

Where's the double standard? He is for prostitution and fricks hookers. (Mind, I don't read more than what you wrote and the title)

He's trying to prevent a s*x film of him being released despite signing a contract, but he supports prostitution. So, he's okay with s*x work when he pays women but not when he's being paid and it's a film of him.

It's weird considering his works are often incredibly embarrassing to read. He's not a bad writer by any means imo, it's just weird that a guy who has pioneered the genre of incel kino has any shame.
