She did blackface, put on a beard, and pretended to be a king from "Abyssinia" as a funny prank on the British media:

But to be honest the main "problem" with Virginia Woolf isnt even mentioned in this r-slurred list - she was extremely classist, and one of her main motivators for bringing women out of poverty was something like "no smelly poor person could ever produce anything of artistic value, which is why we need to empower women to seek their own wealth and independence"

You have to understand that this isn't racist and ableist as a normal person would understand it. Its 'wrote about a black or handicapped person in a way that implied rainbows didn't shoot out their butt 24.7' or 'used no-no words like moron and idiot' or 'once made edgy joke in private letter in 1937.'

That list is missing some other SFWA luminaries like Samuel Delany :marseygroomergrooming:, though I see Mercedes Lackey made it on. I'm guessing that Lackey is probably on the list due to the "colored" incident, which even Redditors thought was ridiculous.

I think that grinding children into pepperoni is far more problematic, but maybe that's just me.

Delany not in there because according to the SFWA writing gay teenage buttsex stories for libertarians is nothing compared to… having a fictional woman getting beat up or inferring any race was ever in a lower class than another
