We need to bring back Bookit. Kids read, they get free pizza. What's not to love about that?
Pizza used to be a rare treat. Now it's practically a staple of most American diets, being eaten about once a week.
You're not going to motivate kids by offering them the modern equivalent of our era's hamburger helper.

I never heard of BookIt growing up
Anyways, I disagree that these programs work. They make reading seem like a chore that needs to be rewarded. The problem is the books they make you read in middle school fricking suck. I always liked reading as a kid, prob because I had good parents, but I fricking hated those shitty school books.
