I know people dunk on this quote but dysentery has killed more humans than all wars combined. Before this part, the city she has been ruling over has been suffering from a plague of "bloody flux". At the time of the quote, she is alone in a barren hilly wilderness with a single stream running through it. Is it silly or bad writing to have a character in a medieval setting suffer from medieval illnesses? That's not a rhetorical question. I really don't know if it's possible to write about diarrhea without it being silly even though it will kill you in many circumstances.
Have you ever had a stomach flu? Imagine having no potty, no shelter, and knowing that you are literally going to shit and vomit yourself to death.
