This was one of my first stained glasses, and the last one was less complex so it turned out better. I may add some more paint in some spots, but I also want to get started on the next piece and just write this one off as practice. My next stained glass Marsey will be properly planned out fr fr.

Actually super cool
Nah this is art in its own right. Can't wait to see how you improve and your next piece. BTW, if you scan or take a picture of just the glass, you probably get it approved for sidebar art

Thanks a lot. I'd be down to try and scan it if possible, it just wouldn't look the same without the light going through it though.

wouldn't light shine through on a flatbed scanner? Or maybe take a pic of it on one of those overhead projector thingies that schools used to use?
Or just crop a picture with it with light behind it I guess.

I'm sure I can do at least one of those things.

HOW?!

Buy glass paint and a square of glass. Then you can paint it. It's annoying to work with and you mostly drip it onto the glass (the areas where the texture on mine is messed up are the spots where I overused the brush instead of dripping it on) but it isn't that hard after you get going. Use an acrylic paint marker for the lines. Not sure where to get all of the supplies or how expensive they are. They were left over from another family member.

I thought there was some going on with putting dye into the molten glass

No mine was easy mode. The big ones you see in churches are definitely made in a more complex way though.

I bought glass paint by accident for my miniatures (which reminds me that I should start painting again...). They actually are really useful for some cool looking effects, cause they don't have as much opacity as acrylic paints.

Then do that. It honestly looks cool already. And I have found that's it's definitely worthwhile to start a new project when you want to start a new one instead of trying to perfect the old one. Especially since you can revisit the old project ("stained glass Marsey") without any problem at a later time.
The project is finished. You might think it's not perfect, but that is okay. Get a new one going. (And congrats, most people never even finish a project before they want to start a new one).

Dear OP
I am commenting to inform you that after careful consideration, I have decided to not read your post
Q: What does this mean?
A: Your post was too long, too boring, or a combination of the two. [editors note: this post was too boring, and the length was not a factor in this message. you should truly feel bad for writing this, and god will punish you for posting this]
Q: What can I do to remedy this?
A: Next time, please make your post more concise, less boring, or both.
Yours truly,
