Don't be afraid to combine the marsey models with all kinds of other models, you can merge checkpoints in seconds in automatic1111. Unironically the furry models work well for marsey checkpoint model merges to capture the anthropomorphic nature of marsey generation and increase the fidelity.
New trick I've learned recently, if you want to stick to hard marsey cartoon generation, there are LORAs out there to control detail, you can scale them up or inversely at a minus sign in their strength to generate more simple looking results which aligns with marsey art:

An Nvidia graphics card w/at least 4GB VRAM will work but that's the minimum so the more the better. I haven't tried on low tier graphics card but I know that a lot of people have done it even on a 1060 GTX. Just be weary it may be a lot slower than cloud solutions (but those don't give you complete control so thats the trade off)
For doing specific marsey gen I would say you should reserve about 10 to 20 GB of Hard drive space for the installation and room for Checkpoints/Models

I feel you, but I actually haven't even gotten into 2.0 myself because 1.5 is so well trained and there's such a diversity of models and cowtools and is cheaper/faster overall for resources anyway.

Still sucks that you can't really train on an AMD. I wanted to train a lora of randy from the trailer park boys and in normal mode it is just out of memories 2 steps in, in low memory mode it fails to even start with a weird cuda error

Yes it should work well, I'm not sure if xformers automatically installs with default but if not check out guides to enable for way faster generation on 3XXX and 4XXX nvidia stuff, its basically just adding one line to a notepad file but has to be done correctly

if you use control net and/or just image2image you can guide the pixel process a lot better than just raw generation.

Not exactly sure how you mean but all you need is a rough approximation, even a super low quality image and with AI you can upscale with high fidelity

well sometimes those jap letters need to be erased and replaced with english translations.
(not as blurry as this Fiverr guy made it though)
Sometimes it's not as bad, but then sometimes the mangamaker uses weird gradient shitty textboxes / weird quirky shit like below, which might require removing textboxes and drawing shit. And you can't just slap a '*tl note: keikaku means plan' in the corner for the reader since it's dialogue

I gotchu, I would say that would be something inpainting can easily handle, for example I helped my little brother restore a low res picture of a friend of his (who just passed away unfortunately) and used inpainting to edit out them holding drinks:

same principle for replacing manga. Try using a specific LORA for it and also try "inpainting sketch" mode in automatic1111, you just need to give some minor color guidance and it will do the rest
