So what happens when other countries do the same? Demand American companies sell to a domestic billionaire of their own. Should be interesting.
/u/D_roneous1 do you have any idea how China operates? This is literally already their MO and has been since... well since their current government took power lmao.
All these r-slurred redditors seem to think this is a ploy to push people into Facebook/Twitter lol
That's the accusation. The one I see from Redditors is that the US government doesn't want us to know that Chinese citizens spend less money on the groceries we export to them than we spend on the same food, even though everyone knows that the US subsidizes farming to remain competitive on the international market. We sell food at a loss and spend more here in the US so Chinese citizens can eat for cheap.
Tiktok, CamScanner, and DJI all have mandatory data reporting to the Chinese government and we've caught them on many occasions conducting espionage through them.
The Obama administration caught China doing shady shit and the DJI ban went into effect for the DOD during Trump.
CamScanner reports your scanned images and work receipts to the Chinese government.
Tiktok uses backdoors to get access to your phone's other components just like the NSA did with Angry Birds.
China has the 1000 Talents Program as part of its overt industrial/military espionage program as well. Basically they pay foreign scientists to replicate their published research for China, in China, with the promise of lots of money and more publications.
The glowies caught them pushing the data to China, who was using it to spy on people's work trips when they were filing their receipts for travel vouchers.
Imagine the most aggressive industrial espionage country figuring out what your glowies are doing and how they're collaborating by just looking at their perfectly scanned hotel receipts. You get dates and dollars, then you make a database and then start comparing values to other people in the same time and place, and you can paint a picture.
Here's when Trump got to banning it (I think we discovered it during Obama). But I think Biden revoked it after they came into compliance.
The way the Gook Spooks probably do it is to make a list of locations, organizations, and people of interest first. Passively collect data without really looking at it.
Then once a keyword triggers their system they'll actually escalate data logging, start reviewing it, then make connections and compile.
So if they have a range of cellphone numbers or contracts that they know the government owns (not a hard thing, even a Jew can do this with pagers) then they can set their cowtools to trigger if the app gets downloaded to those phones, or any scan they make.
Then start making connections about who from what agency went where and who else they would have been with.
Idk that's my guess based off how reddit jannies use push-pull cowtools to look for people saying BIPOC on the internet and self-references without being /u/ pinged.

China literally doesn't let anyone do business inside China without the state owning part of your company.
