I've actually been blessed with only great bosses. I'm a kiss-butt though.

My boss at Kroger has a bizarre obsession with pistachios.
He's not a bad manager per se, and is easy to get along with, but he's like Bubba Gump with that shit. Pistachios this, pistachios that. "Fried pistachios. Pistachios a l'orange. Pistachio paste."
All. fricking. day.
He also swills ice tea and frequently shows up to work with lipstick kisses on his face and smelling like womens' perfume. He's obviously fricking a lady and not showering afterwards before coming to work; I'm surprised he hasn't been fired for it.

Do you know if he used to work at a footlocker? Maybe semi-expired foods suspiciously disappearing into the dumpster? Asking for a friend.

I did have a team coordinator (one step below my boss) who made it her mission to get me fired. (She has no authority over me but would try to tattle on me). This was back when I was having mental health issues during/right after cancer. Tbh I wasn't the best employee at the time and she had a point but I was unfireable due to ADA nonsense 😎. She got laid off during restructuring like 6 months later teeheehee. Don't even remember her name but I was smug at the time. :))))

Back when I was doing lower level work, I had a manager who talked a big game and always acted like he was your buddy, but he was spineless and worthless. If you needed something, you should go to someone else and if he promised you something, you couldn't count on it. Day to day he was okay because he stayed out of my shit, but he was a terrible leader and he always threw our department under tbe bus to cover for other teams.
So I lined up another job, put in my two weeks, made no effort to do anything I wasn't explicitly told to do, and left him in the lurch. He eventually got laid off when the company got acquired, and I think he works for his in-laws at their family restaurant now?
All my other bosses since have been solid.

I've had fairly decent managers. One was a total psycho-neurodivergent that made fun of everyone, and the only time he ever walked back an insult was when he made fun of a guys mentally-stunted child and the guy threatened to walk. I hardly ever get offended so he never really bothered me, he was good at his job.
Worst was a controller that knew absolutely nothing, couldn't make a decision, and was just an all-around weirdo. Total pain to deal with.

As a wagie I once worked under this guy in a (non fast food) restaurant. I wanted to like him because he worked really hard but he fit every single negative stereotype of career chefs. Random shit would set him off and he'd be super unpleasant to work with for the rest of the shift. He'd snap at servers for having the audacity to send more than 1 ticket in a 3 minute period. He was borderline verbally abusive to the other managers when he got stressed out. He expected everything to be done perfectly, and then got mad when you'd ask what he considered to be stupid questions about procedures.

I once had a desk attendant yell at me for slamming weights when it was the zoomers next to me doing it. I was slamming my weights when they were way too far away to hear me because I'm not r-slurred.
