It might be, at least one way of desyncing was spam buying awards, which we found through
@mithrandir. The pings might have been a way, the goombling might have been a way.

It looks like
@mithrandir's and 
@DarmstadtiumDonGER's wallets were desynced from gambling before the spam buying began. I also forgot to test that.

Nah I remember, it was only when
@mithrandir did his pride awards, you can see here that even after gambling they still have synced wallets
Then mith is able to recieve a gift from
@DarmstadtiumDonGER which starts the dupe
As you can see mith is down 3 million, but it only registered as 500000 or so, the spam buy desync. I assume you can do the same with goombling if you goomble fast enough, which i think is what desynced
@DestoryerCarbine, as you can see there is a rapid set of blackjack losses, that aren't registered in 
@Wolverine's wallet leaving him at +1k in comparison to his spouse, which is where the dupe then first began.

I see. I mentioned gambling because
@DarmstadtiumDonGER also seems to have more blackjack entries than 
@mithrandir, though as you mentioned, their balances apparently ended up being equal before the award buying. Bank statements are hard to read.
