2560 x 1440 pixels. Which is much less than 3456 x 2234, especially on a 16in screen. You must love staring at pixels.

i dont have the time to explain this to you.

When buying a gaming monitor you look at refresh rate and you want 1440p, for fps games you'd probably go 1080p even.

like you don't get it, you don't play games and probably don't know a lot about computers.

Holy shit you're r-slurred. 1080p and 1440p (the P stands for progressive) are resolutions, not refresh rates. You might be thinking of things like 30/60/120/240fps.

ok you are illiterate bud.

running a game at 1080p means higher FPS (this is good for fps games in which you want to crank FPS as high as possible) and yes it does matter, refresh rate is also important.

running a game at 1440p reduces FPS. this gets worse as you go higher, even with a high end computer.

1440p monitor with a good refresh rate is the standard monitor you buy. running at a higher resolution reduces performance, which is what I was saying.

stick to the coons.

Anyways, what I said was objectively correct. You run a poor person's monitor ($200) and have warts on your fingers. Any dermatologist would agree.

i run a standard monitor, and IU've been to one and they said they were not warts.

They only said that because you're on medicaid and it would be frivolous to treat.

There are IPS 4k 120 Hz monitors out there that are decently sized at 27". I have one, they're nice.

I got a Gigabye 4k 144hz from a friend for a steal (he got an QD-OLED 4k 240hz monster last year) and got a matching open box from microcenter to go with it.

I have :marseyblind: shitty eyesight and run my stuff at 200% scaling though.

ok i'm with pizzashill on this one, what games are you guys cranking out 144hz on 4K? half life 1?

i thought GPUs were still cucked into oblivion by 4k.

if my 3070 can run 2017-era games at 1440p 144Hz, I'm sure top of the line griftercards will do 4k 144Hz

That, and there's also the fact that general work on 4k is much nicer than at lower resolutions. I can get work done with a nice dpi, then turn down the resolution and game at 120 Hz.

I'm gonna get a 5090 at launch though

My friend with the 240Hz has a 4090. If you drop a lot of the useless quality settings games still look amazing and he gets 120fps on a lot of AAAs, not sure what he can run at 240Hz though, I assume he uses DLSS for that.

Oh, 120hz is just butter smooth on my Mac, I don't game or anything.

They were 32" vs my previous 27" 4Ks which was the main reason for upgrading. I now have the 27"s on my work setup which helps a lot with Windows shitty font rendering.

A lot of g*mer monitors just slap 144hz for some reason? I just treat it as 120hz

It's gorgeous, honestly the price is kind of crazy for the tech that's shoved in it. I remember when 4K IPS displays were even more expensive
