He said this to me yesterday:

I'm gonna let you in on a little secret because I'm drunk - I'm a big fan of the carrot/stick method. That is to say, I beat neighbors over the head with very mean and cruel comments about their personal lives (that they over share on here for some bizarre reason), and then I offer them an out by coming on the show. Whenever somebody takes me up on that offer, I'm very nice to them and gas them up so that they feel comfortable sharing more. After their appearance, I will take their side unconditionally and sweep up for them no matter how wrong they are.

Conversely, If they don't come on the show, I then get to call them cowards and keep abusing them. Either way is fine by me, no matter what I get to have fun!

I wasn't going to reply because I don't really give a shit. Topics I have commented about since because I feel they're more important include:

  • whether Germany existed before 1800

  • replying to @longpostbot (I did reply to him right away)

  • The term "Global South"

  • whether Greeks are lazy or not

But if there's an audience here who will actually read this, my answer is:

Bumfights actually had the moral high ground because of how many of Dr Phil's guests are literal mentally ill children.

Yeah he's tried to get me on his podcast multiple times then publicly admitted (multiple times) that the whole point is letting lolcows basically milk them themselves. And then he'll throw insults at you for saying no to calling him (admittedly usually good insults, tbf)

That's not fair, I usually throw subtle jabs and lead the conversation to embarrassing material, I don't just let them milk themselves. The trick is to tell them they're kings and hype up whatever they spew so that they feel comfortable to dig deeper.

In your case, because there were 3 parties and only one was willing to speak and slip more deets, it was very important to gas up and defend to the death the sole person who was willing to speak!
