He just seems like the D's McCain in my mind. A critical mass of people would have gone and voted for not DDR regardless of the candidate. I don't think he had much going for him in particular beyond being Obama's VP.
imo, D's could have run Eugene Debs and won and made actual changes to the governemnt, but they don't because the that's the system
