Horrible leadership by "drill sergeants" Hertling, who for a time also commanded all basic and advanced soldier training for the US Army, said that during two visits to Russia he found the army's training to be "awful."
The issue of Russian army training, according to Hertling, starts "in basic training, and doesn't get better during the [Russian] soldier's time in uniform."
Insider reached out to Hertling for comment.

This is a common problem in shithole countries. They have an officer corps drawn from the upper class and they won't accept anyone else having any authority. So they don't get senior NCOs who actually give a shit about doing their jobs.

It’s calling coping article + trying to give Ukrainian moral boost. Russian pro army is bigger than Ukrainian one but thanks to mobilization the numerical advantages help Ukrainian a lot. Most of new mobilized guys won’t see a fight since their goal will be defending flanks. Ukraine won’t attack flanks where they don’t have numerical advantages. Ukrainian are literally now in Kherson and Lyman are using Zerg tactics

This is nonsense lol. Russia basically burned their best troops during the onset of the war.
The issue russia faces isn't troop numbers (they were and are lacking - but it's too late to fix that) it's that they have no real leadership, a horrible morale problem, and a troop quality problem now that the professionals are spent.
Russia is drafting 300k r-slurs that don't want to be there or fight because they desperately need to stabilize their defensive lines after getting embarrassed during a counter offensive.
Russia is simply at the limits of their ability to wage a large scale war. They can pump all of the poorly trained guys into the meat grinder they want - the Ukrainians at this point have a far more motivated and capable fighting force than Russia does.
Nobody wants to say this out loud or admit it but it needs to be said. The Ukrainains are just straight up a better fighting force and Russia is unlikely to change this reality. It's only going to get worse as Ukraine adopts and is trained into more NATO weapon systems.
If you think it's bad now wait until the abrams show up.
At some point the reality that Russia has picked a fight they likely cannot win will set in and the oligarchs will have to start making tough choices.

Look at those idiots sacrificing last hardware they have for pr victory https://x.com/DefensePolitics/status/1574324946129416192?s=20&t=iFy2MLYQ7LH9KfEF5H8NCQ just 3 days left till war will be announced and Ukraine already don’t have any thanks and has to use inferior nasams because they have no more s-300

Russia are drafting 900k since it’s actually 3x300k. Yes Ukrainian are better fighters that’s why they are burning their best soldiers in Lyman knowing is their last counter offensive in hope their masters will send mbt ? How long it takes to train soldiers using abrams and how are they suppose to reach Donbas if Russia now hitting Ukrainian infrastructure? Annexing of those 4 regions is Russian cutting any peaceful ending of the war. Russian are now committed to end Ukraine by any means

Tell me you aren't in Russia getting mobilized without telling me you aren't in Russia getting mobilized.

Don’t use this format, I am pretty sure it was created by mayo hole 🤮.
But look at it logically killing some mobilization officers at such time is equal to suicide. Instead of trying to escape death he embraced it.
Second r-slurred group 30+ year old man who leaving their life behind especially to go to EU (Finland). In EU at best case scenario they’ll be treated as 2nd class citizen and realistically EU want to send the back to Russia in hope that will spark a protest while in reality after arrival they’ll be send to prison for 10 years or join Wagner suicide squad. Those who go to Armenia are equal r-slurred, Arzebajan is getting ready to own Armenia and Putin will gladly gift those man to Armenia.
Smartest move for a Russian especially with a degree is to rush doing some reconstruction volunteers jobs in Mariupol

tbf if you took recruits straight from basic in my country they'd probably perform just as badly if not worse. I didn't retain anything from basic except weapons handling and some drill.
