Why can't anyone write an article in English anymore without just outright lying through their teeth?

Russia’s announcement on September 21 of its first public mobilisation since World War II had even attracted criticism from the Kremlin’s own official supporters, something almost unheard of in Russia since it sent its army into Ukraine seven months ago.

“They’re infuriating people, as if on purpose, as if out of spite. As if they’d been sent by Kyiv,” the strongly pro-Kremlin editor of Russia’s state-run RT news channel, Margarita Simonyan, said on Saturday.

Nope. She didn't say that about the mobilisation announcement. Nor was that what she criticised. I know this because I've read her fricking message - it was right here: https://t.me/margaritasimonyan/12147. It was about specific Military Commissariat call line.

As in what she's upset they aren't calling students or that they're calling 40 year olds or...?

She's upset that the military commissariats on the ground seem to be ignoring the official policy from the top, at the very least scaring and angering people. And yeah, telegram was filled to the brim with examples of people who really don't fit the "mold" being called up, while others who very much do and actually wanted to join up (there are pretty great financial incentives, especially for people with expensive mortgages) - being turned away.

Her complaints were about specific officials, who she described using the quote you see above. She's not wrong.

My problem is that the article made it sound like she wrote that about the mobilisation itself. Without any context - everyone would think that. Shit, I would at least consider it (and go and check) if I didn't distinctly recall reading that message like a week ago on her channel (it's kind of memorable, especially the quoted line).

He's unironically right looking at it from the Russian govt point of view, the question is whether he can or if it's like the end czars where it'll take a revolution to fix this issue
