I don't think people were angry at him for wanting the war to end but more for sort of acknowledging Russian referendums and using obvious propaganda terms like "Krushchev's mistake."
The war is moving incredibly fast in Ukraine's favor right now. Barring the empty threat of Putin screaming im gunna nuuuuuke, there really isn't any reason for Ukraine to be considering concessions as of this moment.
Limited nuclear strikes won't change the tide of war. Modern doctrine has troops spread out pretty far. They'd need to use dozens of warheads to make a significant impact. And that would piss everyone off.
