the users who view the most ads — roughly the top 1 percent of users in the United States — are also the ones most likely to join a subscription service. If they began paying a monthly subscription and went ad-free, the program could cannibalize the most lucrative part of Twitter’s current ad business.

So most of their business is based on a small fraction of one of the least popular social networks. How long is it going to take for politicians to realize that these weirdos who spend all day on twitter are not representative of the public?
