This is as close to "securing the dictatorship" as we've seen form Xi,
it's pretty unexpected because it was thought that Xi wanted to give the illusion that there are elections that matter but removing your former General Secretary is a pretty huge leap.

As the economy goes to shit over the next decade, the average chang is going to blame Xi flirting with Maoism and doing nothing about the housing bubble. Looks pretty pre-emptive tbh as the conservative wing knows the Deng-chads will start coming out in force again.
