Russian President Vladimir Putin is battling both Parkinson's disease and pancreatic cancer, according to leaked Kremlin documents.

The leader has been the centre of rumours speculating his ill-health over the years, with President Putin routinely seen twitching and unsteady during public appearances.

The claims have been widely circulated among opposition figures and it is reported the 70-year-old is constantly followed and monitored by a team of doctors.

But now bombshell emails from a Russian intelligence source, as seen by The Sun, can reveal President Putin is suffering from both early stage Parkinson's and pancreatic cancer.

“I can confirm he has been diagnosed with early stage Parkinson’s disease, but it’s already progressing,” the email from an insider claimed.

“This fact will be denied in every possible way and hidden.

“Putin is regularly stuffed with all kinds of heavy steroids and innovative painkilling injections to stop the spread of pancreatic cancer he was recently diagnosed with.”

The emails claim the pancreatic cancer has now spread to other parts of his body.

It comes as the Russian leader was pictured with track marks from possible IV treatment on the back of his hand, adding further fuel to health rumours.

Telegram channel General SVR has long reported on the President's ill-health, supporting claims he has been diagnosed with both cancer and Parkinson's.

Last week the channel reported President Putin's relatives were concerned about "coughing fits, constant nausea and a lack of appetite" after he underwent an undisclosed medical examination.

It said the President's inner-circle were worried that his "thinness and persistent cough" will become noticeable by Russia's elite as "a sign of the leader's rapidly deteriorating health".

His health was again thrown into the spotlight last month after a report claimed the Russian leader was complaining of pains before critical war room meetings.

Images showing President Putin leaning forward and fidgeting with his hands during a meeting with Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko.

In May, images emerged of the Russian leader shivering at Russia's Victory Day Parade as a heavy blanket was draped across his legs.

Earlier during that day, the President appeared to limp as he walked to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

In a resurfaced video taken on February 18, Putin was also filmed uncontrollably shaking his hands before welcoming Mr Lukashenko at the Kremlin.

He was later captured sitting on a chair but was unable to remain still - constantly fidgeting and tapping his feet.

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has previously dismissed rumours that the Russian President was ill or dying.

"I don’t think that sane people can see signs of some kind of illness or poor health," he said in May.

He said the reports of President Putin’s ill-health should be left “on the conscience of those who spread such rumours”.
