You able to go to the bar? If so find one near campus with music. It’ll be crowded and hard to get a beer but stay by the bar and you’ll meet people. Other option is make buddies with people in class (study group and shit) as long as you aren’t a completely socially r-slurred you can work you way into a bar trip or even a party there

This is a good point i definitely should've mentioned because he is neurodivergent, but yeah it's more something to fall back on at a larger party if he goes alone. So if someone says "did you come here by yourself?", he can say that he's been looking for his friend, but that who knows what happened to them, etc, and get out of it
definitely wouldn't suggest walking around calling out to a fake friend or something ridiculous like that
