Apparently sometimes it's just because u sign a loan agreement that says base rate +whatever% so if the interest rate goes up then so do ur payments

Meanwhile, customers would kick and scream if they were required to go through with an agreement that doesn't let anyone alter the price or reject the sale. Just like futures.

I don’t know about this specific case, but the Ford dealership in my little small Southern town has been doing that shit to people even if they’re just paying cash.

The local Chevy dealer is doing insane market adjustments too but they’ll at least tell you about it before a deposit is placed.
