It's actually meant to encompass religious objects of all religions. I hope they enforce it properly and bible burning becomes a crime. That would be amusing.

All the news articles headline it with only the Koran...

And yes, my main issue really was it seemed somewhat "selective", and most of the pressure came from governments that haven't outlawed Bibleburning themselves...

They headline it that way since it's good for clicks, obviously, and tbf. Koran burnings are the reason for the bills existence. But even in this Reuters article you get this quote from Justice Minister himself:

"The proposal will thus make it punishable to, for example, in public burn a Koran, Bible or Torah," he said.

Criminalizing bible burning would make this both side seeth generation opportunity. That's what I'm hoping for (me being Christian may be a factor :marseyrapscallion:).

I'm certain it won't. Which can lead to lawsuits, and even more seething. That's a win as well.
