The article doesn't really go into details - what does shutting this office down actually mean? I mean obviously elections can still be held, presumably this office is what coordinated them, so does that mean a state-level office will do this instead? Is that how most other counties in TX operate?
It does seem flagrantly targeted with the extremely specific 3.5mil population cutoff in the law.
Pretty dramatic all around, though. Glad I don't live there. (jk chicago has more than its fair share of election shenanigans)
