Water bombers are just death traps. You take an ancient airframe, weld a big tank into the fuselage, make it go low and slow and subject it to rapid load cycles it wasn't designed for at all. These things tend to just break apart in the air, which is not something that happens to any other plane.

I think the only purpose-built aircraft for aerial firefighting is the Canadair CL-415 and even that keeps crashing. :marseyplanecrash:
