They were still expensive. It was outlawed to buy new slaves (from outside the US) sometime in the early 1800's I think which meant they only way you got new slaves was smuggling and breeding.

Yeah, the Constitution forbid importing slaves after 1820. One of the many cases of "we're gonna ban slavery... for our grandchildren" from that time.

tbh I've only gone to a shooting range once and it was alright, but I didn't have enough fun to consider seeking it out, and certainly not giving up my firstborn or whatever bullshit IL/Chicago make you go through.
