i'm pretty sure there are home water filters that are super expensive but they will remove as much pharmaceutical runoff as possible. there's a whole installation you have to go thru but it's worth it

i think it's reverse osmosis plus some other mechanisms too, there's like 3 big water tanks on the one i'm thinking of, it's like the go-to ultimate water filter i've seen homesteaders use
There's no filtering above reverse osmosis. Those are multi step tanks to reintroduce appropriate levels of minerals to your water so it doesn't dehydrate you via sapping electrolytes

ohh yea you're right it does that too. i also saw some method of detoxing from microplastics and possibly some way to filter them out of water but i may be misremembering
For reference Microplastics are so small they're just in the air, you can't avoid it.
The reason Microplastics are so hard to filter is they literally just keep shredding into smaller and smaller pieces, they're objectively impossible to remove even with reverse osmosis. There's no safe chemical to remove plastics either.
Billions of women pissing their birth control down the urinal adds progestin to the water lines (synthetic form of progesterone/progestogen) to make all the men soyboys with historically low testosterone. !chuds
Also the EDCs are probably behind people turning into fats too
Although the obesity epidemic is largely fueled by poor nutrition and lack of exercise, certain chemicals have been shown to potentially have a role in its aetiology. A substantial body of evidence suggests that a subclass of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), which interfere with endocrine signalling, can disrupt hormonally regulated metabolic processes, especially if exposure occurs during early development. These chemicals, so-called 'obesogens' might predispose some individuals to gain weight despite their efforts to limit caloric intake and increase levels of physical activity.

The chemicals in the water can make people who lack impulse control get fatter than they would have otherwise. Its still their fault primarily, butt those chemicals shouldnt be in my shower/potty water(I only drink chilled Evian ).

Yeah but hormones do make increase your metabolism and anabolism. Or estrogen, which these EDCs mimic which makes you collect more fat on the body. It's more to do with where the calories get directed.
However, they of course would not get that extra fat if they didn't eat enough to allow it.
Biology chooses what your body does with the calories. Chemicals that mimic the "store fat" signal [all xenoestrogens for a start] will cause you to gain weight.

What if there was a safe way to fuse microplastics together so that they clump up and can be filtered out?

They're testing that with a nicrostructure based around egg white proteins in water iirc. Testing is hopeful but ofc issue is scale and cost
