It's so fricking cringe how the leftoids there pretend to speak Maori by just dropping random words occasionally. Even the Canadians can't speak French.
I'm sure the remake has gone on far longer than the original by now. Something like ten seasons?
But now acknowledging that a native person could have done something bad is forbidden, kind of hard to deal with when you're doing a mystery of the week show and trying to cast locals. I wonder if the new one has a land acknowledgement in the end credits. Lots of movies and shows do now.
New Zealand is worse, though, including things like a movement to rename the country to the Maori version because Colonisers Bad. They wouldn't make Once Were Warriors today, not our heckin' peaceful Maorinos.

The proper way to do a "land acknowledgement" in boomer times and I don't think it offended anyone.
Also the guy who made it was Iranian so I guess by zoomer standards he was an AAPI.
