The key here is never ever cooperate with CPS. Anyone who interacts with them in good faith will get fricked in the butt. Remember as agents of the state they are no different than cops, they have absolutely zero special privileges or abilities. They need warrants and court orders just like any other government agent. Even my sister who is a super r-slurred vote blue no matter who, TDS addled bustlecel with a PhD in child psychology fricking despises CPS workers. They're invariably unqualified with shitloads of personal trauma and a savior complex that have no qualms about violating the law and people's rights. Literally make cops look good.
