i must genuinely be racist because ive called khoisan Hottentots to their faces, and Khoisan wanting to please boer tourists would indicate, "there's the hottentot cave paintings and old murals from X site in the Kalahari" and so on

Like if you call a coloured a "Hotnot" - especially coloured peeps descended from Khoisan lineage, then that would be a deceisive and deliberate slur, but for as long I've been aware, Hottentots have been an archaic and outmoded archeological term, that could theoretically apply to like 25% of living descendants of modern coloured peeps, but have since fallen out of fashion for not being ethnically applicable, rather than becoming a taboo associated with the evils of the Boer regimes
