Just another step on the slippery slope. If self-id is all that matters, then "dysphoria" can be used to demand all sorts of fetish-driven cosmetic surgeries. I also expect that the manlet "I identify as a 6'3" chad and demand surgeries to realize this" arguments will become more-serious over time and the rationale for only funding surgeries related to gender transitions will weaken.

Maybe if men start doing it. Currently
s get breast surgery covered while female victims of breast cancer don't for breast reconstructive surgery. So they've shown no indication that threatening to keep yourself safe unless you get everything you want, for cheap if not for free, in terms of plastic surgery, will stop taking precedence over anyone else.
