lol. Real talk: what would even replace it? China is the obvious other economic giant, but has a history of closed markets and currency manipulation - absolutely nobody would consider it a "safe" place to base your reserves. Maybe in Euros? But the EU (okay technically Eurozone) is in more dire economic straits than the US.

The only way I could see the dollar ceasing to be the reserve currency of the world is after a long, slow decline of the US over decades. As long as the US military is king the dollar is king.
