If you've been reading my :marseylongpost: you've already heard of this guy and his family. (He's the one who was away from home when his whole family got massacred.) They've got an interesting history, including very close ties to the Assads since the 1950s, way before they were even in power.

I'm not saying that necessarily makes him a bad guy, but if Assad had been a friend of a friend of a friend of Barack Hussein Obama the rightoids would never let that go.
