I could probably support this for pragmatic reasons even though it's incredibly unfair to everyone who wasn't born in Mexico. I mean, I could if this was last year and part of a larger plan to deal with immigration.

I have an issue with this, people are gamblers, and as long as there is a chance that illegal immigrants will get citizenship, they will keep trying. As soon as Trump was elected illegal immigration started to go down because they knew that the chance of them getting citizenship went down. Same with Biden, thanks to all his 2020 election rhetoric on immigration, tons of illegal immigrants came in, thinking that he would keep his word. The best deterrent against illegal immigration is making it clear that it will not be forgotten about.
